Micro Project

The genre of this music is Indie Rock, claiming to sound like bands such as Fall out Boys and Of Monsters and Men. The band is currently unsigned which was a good opportunity for us to come up with our ideas. We decided to portray a Band because their are lots of other Indie Rock bands that we can get inspiration from.

The song that I chose to do is called "Walk You Home"
 The reason why I chose this song was because, firstly it is very catchy and simple secondly it was because it fit the genre that wanted to do at the beggining and lastly I feel like it will be fairly easy to create a music video for.

This is the website of the band that i have chosen. It is a very simple website which keeps it looking very clean and stylish. There are some buttons at the top of the page which you can use to get more details about the band as well as contacting them. I feel the website fits the genre of music they make. The Main feature on the website is the large picture which fills most of the website, The picture it self tells you a lot about the band. The photo is of all four band members sitting outside somewhere however the the style of the photograph is typical of the genre. It is in black and white as well as having  a vignette around the edge which gives the photo a vintages look to it.

Similar Bands

These are the website of the bands that I think have a similar kind of sound to see the similarities and difference between their and the band that I have chosen.

Both of these websites have many similarities between theirs and of the band I have chosen. Firstly they both have a very limited amount of features on their websites they all have some tabs at the top which takes them other pages about the band but other than that their is not a lot more. All three websites have large photos or videos which take up a lot of the screen like it is forcing you to look at them as well as keeping the home page looking clean making people want to look at it. Where as if the website was cluttered with lots of link and and writing it would not appeal to the audience. However there are some difference such you can tell that the other websites are professionally made where as The McQueens websites was most likely made by a friend of theirs for a lot less money.

Target Audience

Indie stands for individual, which already gives you a sense of who the target audience of this genre of music is. People associated with Indie music often enjoy bands and musicians that most people would consider to be a unique style and does not fit in to a existing genre of music. People usually express indie style through means of clothing, films, music and interests 

Associated with Indie

These are items that are normally associated with the term indie, Indie means that you don't follow any particular trend or style however there are certain items that are considered to be associated with the indie style.

Tie dye and different patterns are also usually worn by people who are considered to be indie 

Vintage cameras are often considered to be indie along with polaroids which are commonly featured in indie music videos.

Music Video Analysis

Story Board

For our music video we have looked at different music videos of bands with a similar sound and in the same genre. So after looking at other bands music videos we decided that we wanted to film our music video mostly outside and cross cut between that and of some one playing the song inside using instruments.
